Rwanda Revenue Authority

The Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) is the government agency responsible for collecting and managing taxes in Rwanda. It was established in 1997 and is responsible for implementing tax policies and laws, as well as ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

The RRA’s main functions include collecting taxes and other revenue on behalf of the government, enforcing tax laws and regulations, conducting tax audits and investigations, and providing education and guidance to taxpayers. The RRA is also responsible for customs and trade facilitation, including the collection of import and export duties, as well as the implementation of trade regulations and policies.

The RRA operates under the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and is headed by a Commissioner General. The agency has regional offices throughout Rwanda to provide services to taxpayers across the country.

Overall, the Rwanda Revenue Authority plays a critical role in the economic development of Rwanda by collecting the revenues needed to fund public services and infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
